Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, popularly known as Vallabhbhai Patel was born on the 31st of October, in the year 1875, and was a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress, along with being a renowned statesman and barrister, and was also one of the founding members of the Republic of India.
He was rewarded with the title of “Sardar,” which gave him his popular name “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,” which means chief, as he was a person with eminent leadership qualities and the potential to drive the country and its people towards independence and progress.
Commencing his career as a lawyer, he led crowds from states like Gujarat and places like Kheda and Borsad, to march against the British Raj, through a non-violence civil disobedience movement.
He was significant in promoting the Quit India Movement which was held during the year 1942, and always vouched for independent India, helping and guiding a large number of refugees who fled from Delhi and Punjab, and helped them financially and also took care of their health in order to keep the integrity and humanity of the nation alive.
He won the Bharat Ratna Award in the year 1991, posthumously, after he passed away on the 15th of December, in the year 1950.
