Tnreginet Inspector General of Registration is an all-new portal that has been created by TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) to help the Tamil Nadu Government, and the portal has been created for the registration department.
This portal hosts several services that are given to the people of Tamil Nadu. To avail of the services, citizens need to apply online.

Registration Procedure for Tnreginet
Here are the necessary steps one needs to follow to register themselves on the portal:
- Visit the official portal of Tnreginet – https://tnreginet.gov.in/portal/
- As soon as the home page comes, click on the registration option and check out the drop-down list.
- Click on the option, ‘User Registration.’ Post clicking, a new page will appear where you will be required to read the note.
- After that, you need to fill in the details asked such as Name, Email id, date of birth, ID proof, Address, etc.
- After filling in the complete information, a code appears on the screen, and the user receives an OTP through Email or registered mobile number.
- Once everything is done, click on ‘Complete Registration.’
Steps needed to apply for Encumbrance Certificate:
- Visit the official portal: https://tnreginet.gov.in/portal/
- In case you have not registered, you need to register.
- Login to the site with the correct username and password
- Click on the ‘Sign-in Option and then click on the ‘Encumbrance certificate.’
- Click on ‘Apply Online’
- You will need to fill the application form and upload the necessary documents.
Steps needed to apply for Any Document:
- Visit the official portal: https://tnreginet.gov.in/portal/
- In case you have not registered, you need to register.
- Login to the site with the correct username and password
- Click on the ‘Sign-in Option and then click on ‘Create an application.’
- Next click on ‘Create Document.’
- You will need to fill the application form and upload the necessary documents.
Steps needed to search for the Encumbrance certificate:
- Visit the official portal: https://tnreginet.gov.in/portal/://tnreginet.gov.in/portal/
- Once the home page opens up, click on the ‘E-Services option’; there will be a drop-down list.
- Then click on the ‘Encumbrance Certificate.’
- A new page will pop up; you will need to select document wise option or EC
- After filling in all the information, enter the code and click on the ‘Search’ option.
Steps needed to download the utility forms:

- Once the home page opens up, click on the ‘More’ option from the menu bar.
- From the drop-down list, choose ‘Public Utility Forms.’
- Download the form that is of interest.
