Bipin Chandra Pal – Freedom Fighter of India

Born on the 7^th of November in the year 1858, Bipin Chandra Pal was a renowned personality who played a key role in the Indian freedom movements, especially in the Lal Bal Pal movement that was initiated by Bal Gandhadhar Tilak, where Pal was one of the triumvirates.

A significant independence nationalist, he came to be known as the “father of revolutionary thoughts,” mainly for his vision of revolution after he joined the Congress in the year 1886, and wanted repeal for the arms act.

He rose to fame and garnered a lot of attention after he collaborated with Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Lala Lajpat Rai to promote new forms of nationalist movements which revolved around Purna Swadeshi concepts and also focused on boycotting the use of European and other foreign goods, be it clothes or other items.

Although a believer of Gandhi’s ideologies, his thoughts differed on one front, and that was when it came to Gandhi’s non violent approaches towards freedom movements. He believed a non violent take would result in nothing fruitful. He spent his later years of life isolated after he left the Congress party, and according to Sri Aurobindo, Pal was one of the “mightiest prophets” when it came to nationalism.
