About Jim Corbett National Park
Located in Nainital in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, the Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India, established in the year 1936, with the aim of protecting the Bengal tiger which during that period, fell under the endangered species category. Thus, the park was a part of an initiative called the Project Tiger.
A famous tourist attraction site, the national park consists of a variety of around 488 types of flora and fauna and there have been many aspects, both positive and negative to be faced by the Tourism department of the area, as a result of increasing tourism activities in the place that have resulted in a disturbance in the area’s ecological balance.
Although the place is a paradise for wildlife lovers, there have been many haunting instances at the place, due to which tourist activities are allowed only in certain areas of the site and strictly prohibited in the rest.
The whole site encompasses an area of 520.8 km square, which includes hills, grasslands, along with a very big lake.
The area receives heavy rainfall during the months between July and September and during the rest of the year, the days are quite sunny in the place, while the nights remain cold.
