Shepherd dogs which are commonly known as Sheepdogs are known to be working dog types that are generally used by the shepherds to either herd or protect all of their flocks.

This name associates itself to the distinctive breeds which are commonly recognized by Kennel Clubs and describes the non-pure bread of dogs which are generally used by shepherds of various purposes.

These dogs are known to be ultra-destructive and tend to bark for very long hours if they don’t get their mental stimulation or exercise which they require.

Australian Shepherds Breed

This is a very loyal breed who are known to be very devoted to their owners. They love to be close to humans are seen roaming and goofing around them.

Their general style is to either lean against a leg, sit on the foot or sometimes they even wedge themselves into the laps of their owners.

This kind of sphered dog is known to be very smart and focussed. The only requirement this shepherd dog has that need to be kept busy with regular sports.

Anatolian Shepherd Dog

This kind of Shepherd breeds is a native of Turkey. Earlier it was seen breaded as a guardian of livestock or considered as a companion to the shepherds.

These dogs were generally bred to resemble the size and the shape of the livestock so that the dog could defend the predators who will find it difficult to detect the dog amongst the entire flock.

These dogs are known to be very loyal and weigh almost 130 to 140 pounds during their time of maturity.

Chow-Chow

This breed is also as the Black-Tongue is considered to be one of the very old canine breeds that are known to draw attention with their deep eyes and a large head.

There is a common notion that the breed of the dog combines the panda drollness, lion’s nobility, cat’s grace and independence, teddy bear’s appeal, and the loyalty of a dog.

These dogs are known to be very attentive and quiet and originate from China.

German Shepherd

This is one of the most talked-about and famous breeds amongst all the shepherd breeds which are available or seen in the market. This breed has been unofficially authorized with a legendary status as it is considered to be an ideal working dog.

The breed comes out to be super intelligent, courageous and poured with versatility. It is very athletic which is a fearless breed and is seen to be excelling in anything for which they are trained.

German Shepherds are known to excel in almost all the canine sports such as agility, rally, obedience or herding.

Poodle Shepherd

These dogs originally are from Germany. However, these breeds of shepherds were used in France, where they were commonly used for water retrievers.

This breed was very famous in France and in no time gained the utmost popularity and gradually turned out to be the national breed of France.

Poodles are known to be very skillful as they are excellent in sports, herding, tracking and are also very obedient and agile dogs.

Belgian Laekenois

This breed has a well proportionate and very sturdy body. It has a square-shaped appearance and erect ears which are triangle in shape. They have a very long tail at the base of their body which almost reaches to the hocks.

They have a black colour shining nose and tight lips. The Belgian Laekenois’s have a length of medium roughs which has wire coats to cover the body that reaches up to almost 2 inches.

They are available in multiple colours such as Black overlay, fawn or Mahogany.

Dutch Shepherd

This breed is a highly intelligent one which is a trainable jack-of-all-trades. Currently, they are popularly used as police dogs or family-friendly companions or even service animals.

This breed has a little common resemblance to the Dutch Shephard one. The breed Dutch Shephard is one of the rarest breeds and is also considered to be very easy to train.

This breed is also known to be extremely perfect.
