Best Xbox 360 Games
The Xbox 360 has been on the market for almost six years, which is an incredible run for a home console. Because of this and its success and the ease with which developers can make games for it, it has one of the strongest game libraries of any home console. To help you sort the wheat from the chaff, we’ve put together a list of the best 10 Xbox 360 games.
Top 10 Xbox 360 games
Mass Effect Trilogy
It isn’t easy for those who have played Mass Effect to put into words how passionate we are about this series. Bioware did an amazing job of combining a great plot, groundbreaking graphics for each release, strong gameplay mechanics, and the ability to play as a character from each game.
When other games have made sequels, you’ve had to accept the general result that the game makers planned for their characters, leaving no space for interpretation. In Mass Effect, no!
There are storylines and major character choices that you make along the way that will have a huge effect on the game’s events and the whole series.
If a character dies in ME1, don’t expect them to reappear in the sequels or third games. This in-game innovation storytelling allows you to form emotional attachments to each character, further immersing you in the Mass Effect universe.
When you combine this style of storytelling with Bioware’s lush, well-thought-out universe, you’ll find yourself spending the majority of your day exploring. This is, without a doubt, the best Xbox 360 series to date.
The Orange Box
The Orange Box, created by Valve, is one of the best gaming values available. Half-Life 2, two expansion packs in Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2 multiplayer, and the addictive puzzle game Portal are all included in one package. The 360 version is awesome, and it differs from the PS3 version in that the former was developed and published by a team at Valve.
In contrast, the latter was developed and published by a team at E.A. It isn’t easy to know where to begin because there’s so much information available. The Half-Life series is a great first-person shooter with many fans for its weapons, level design, and overall plot.
Portal is one of the top rating and critically acclaimed games thanks to its addictive gameplay and revolution of the puzzle style of gameplay. Team Fortress 2 is a competitive multiplayer game in which various classes are used to make each game feel different and unique.
Another nice feature of TF2 is that the game mode isn’t limited to Team Deathmatch. It’s a multiplayer game with objectives that change with each game, giving it a different feel each time.
Grand Theft Auto V
GTA: V is nothing short of a solid release, perhaps their finest and most ambitious yet. Rockstar has been the darling developer of this generation, and GTA: V is no exception. You get the big open-world gameplay that Rockstar is known for, but the plot is superior to previous GTA games.
Previously, you could only manipulate the main character, but this time you can move between three different characters as their plotlines weave and intersect. GTA: V is one of the best games to come out on current-gen consoles, with solid graphics, a fantastic audio track, and a playable multiplayer.
Without a version of Halo, no list of the best Xbox 360 games will be complete, and Halo Reach is the most modern and accomplished to date, with incredible mechanics, long-drawn-out fights, and new space parts.
Since it is so creative and exclusive, L.A. Noir belongs on any top ten Xbox 360 games list. Being a detective and solving real crimes is a nice change of pace from the regular shooters (of which there are plenty on Xbox), and some impressive facial technology brings a whole new dimension to the game that hasn’t been seen before.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
The consensus on Black Ops is that it isn’t as successful as Modern Warfare 2. That may be true, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a fantastic game with excellent multiplayer and many additional game modes.
