Mount Abu located in the north-western state of Rajasthan in India is known for its scenic beauty as well as cultural heritage. The summer festival in Mount Abu takes place in the month of May or June every year, during the time of Buddha Purnima.

It is one of Rajasthan’s grandest festive celebrations and the pleasant climate along with the picturesque beauty of the place makes it all the more beautiful and appropriate for a summer festival where people enjoy to their fullest.

From the serene lakes to the steep rocks, all of these aspects make Mount Abu one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state of Rajasthan.

The festival generally involves folk music, classical dances, and is a thorough insight into the traditional essence and culture of the state of Rajasthan, including tribal culture.

The festival starts with a ballad, followed by beautiful folk dances. Soon after, many competitions take place to boost the joy of the occasion.

Whereas shows are also organized wherein artists from all over the country come together to present a wonderful programme, such as, skater’s show, the Shaam-e-Qawwali—which a grand musical show presented by singers and qawwals from all around India.

The festival finally ends with an extravaganza of fireworks to light up people’s moods and lives, and hence, the summer festival in Mount Abu is one of the most cherished fairs and festivals in north India.
