For a long time now reports have been doing rounds that the much awaited eighth generation of the popular Toyota Camry Sedan is on its way to be launched in the market in 2017, and now it looks like the wait has finally ended since Toyota has recently unveiled the New Gen Camry at the 2017 North American International Auto Show held in Detroit.

However, before you get all excited, it will be better to know that the U.S. model will be available for sale only in 2018, and the eighth generation Toyota Camry will actually be a 2018 model.

On the other hand, the sedan’s ASEA specific model will be a little different than the one that has been revealed in the United States and if things go well, the ASEAN model too will be unveiled a little later this year.

The New Gen Toyota Camry is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), and is currently the same format that has been implemented on the other two popular models by Toyota, namely, the Toyota Innova Crysta as well as the new Toyota Fortuner.

The style of the new Camry is all bold with sharp detailing and chiselled features, boosted with the new body colour panel and grille design, giving it all the more sleek and stylish appearance, which will certainly be well received by Toyota fanatics.

The cabin of the sedan too has been upgraded, with a more driver-driven dashboard, an entirely touchscreen infotainment system as well as two big horizontal AC vents, situated right above it.

According to Masato Katsumata, the Chief Engineer of the 2018 Toyota Camry, the sedan is more fun to drive than its previous variants and its bold look is going to impress many sedan enthusiasts out there.

Currently as per reports, there will be two powertrain options available in the U.S. for the Toyota Camry, namely, a 3.5 litre V6 and a 2.5 litre petrol engine variant. In India, there are speculations for a hybrid powertrain model alongside a smaller petrol motor variant.
