The government sector is always more lenient on giving off days than the private sector. Although the private sector employees may have to work extra during government holidays, it is not the same for the government employees. Government employees get their days off during special occasions and official holidays and get themselves more time to spend with their family and friends.

Respect and Status

Don’t know why, but those employees of the government sector are given more respect and societal status than the employees working in the private sector who may be in a similar post and who may also be paid more than his counterpart government employee. Therefore, respect is earned when you are a government official.

Growth Scale

The retirement age in government sectors is 58-60 years. So, the expected growth is considered less and over the long term. Whereas, in the private sectors, the growth of your work, talent and skills. Therefore in this aspect, the private sector has an upper hand.

The working hours in the government sectors are fixed whereas the private sectors work times are flexible. Government employees need to work from 9-5 every day with weekends off in contrast to the private employees who have to work extra hours and get the work done at any cost, no matter what.

The work in a government sector is always the same, round the clock. It doesn’t require any extra effort or skill to finish off that work. Creativity goes unnoticed here. However, in the private sector, people notice you for your creative and innovative skills and ideas, which in turn helps in your growth exponentially.

Work Pressure

A normal misconception about government jobs is that they have no work pressure. It is all calm and quiet there. No hustle-bustle like that of private sectors. But no! You’re wrong. Both the sectors have their own kind of work pressure. While the work pressure is evenly distributed in the government sectors, in the private sectors it is distributed depending on your previous work contribution.
