Gagan Narang – Olympics Medal Winner
A popular Indian shooter, Gagan Narang was born on the 6th of May, 1983 in the Indian city of Chennai, in Tamil Nadu and was raised in Hyderabad, where his parents had moved after Narang was a little older.
Winner of bronze medal at the Summer Olympics held at London in the year 2012, Narang, from the tender age of six, had developed a keen interest in shooting when he shot down a number of balloons during the Chennai Marina Beach Carnival.
At the 2006 world cup, he won the air rifle gold medal and managed to bag a big list of significant awards at the international platforms. This includes him winning four gold medals in a row at the 2006 Commonwealth Games held at Melbourne, for 10m air rifle individual, 10m air rifle in pairs, 50m rifle three positions as well as 50m rifle three positions in pairs, and also the 2010 Commonwealth Games held at Delhi, where he won four gold medals in a row for the same categories.
In the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glassgow, he won a silver medal and a bronze medal.
He has also been successful in winning silver and bronze medals at the Asian Games, and is supported by the Olympic Gold Quest.
