Born on the 28th of August, 1985, Bhavish Aggarwal is a popular Indian entrepreneur who is the co-founder and CEO of Ola Cabs— one of the most successful cab services company in India.
Hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab, he holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, which he attained from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT, Bombay) in the year 2008.
His first job was at Microsoft, where he devoted two years, and also published three papers in international journals alongside filing two patents.
It was in the year 2011 in the month of January, that Bhavish founded the Ola Cabs in Mumbai alongside co-founder Ankit Bhatt.
Four years later, in the year 2015, Bhavish and Ankit were the youngest duo to get featured in the list of Richest Indians of that year. Bhavish is married to Rajalakshmi Aggarwal, and in the year 2017, he was honored with the Entrepreneur Award for corporate excellence at the ET Awards.
Founded in the month of December 2010, ANI Technologies Private Limited, functioning under the trade name Ola, today has over 6000 employees and is headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. Currently spread over 110 cities, Ola Cabs as on today has more than 6,00,000 vehicles offering services across all these cities. The two main domains of their services include taxi cabs and vehicles for hire.
From the month of January 2018, Ola Cabs also expanded its services in the overseas market for the first time ever, beginning from Australia, and is all set to begin its services in the cities of Sydney and Melbourne, while it has already initiated services in the city of Perth in Australia in the last week of February. The valation of the company as of September, 2015 is at $5 billion.
