About Dharamshala
Located in the Kangra district in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is a multi-functional place as it serves as a hill station, a town, as well as a municipal corporation of the state, and is also the district headquarters of Kangra. It was formerly known by the name of Bhagsu.
Other than these aspects, Dharamshala also happens to be the town that houses the residence of the Dalai Lama and is also the headquarters of the Central Tibetan Administration.

The word “Dharamshala” is derived from the Hindi word combination of Dharam and Shala, which when combined means a sanctuary, and also a spiritual dwelling.
