About Micromax – Mobile Phone Company in India
About Micromax
Founded in the year 2000, by Rahul Sharma, Sumeet Arora, Vikas Jain, and Rajesh Agarwal, Micromax is a popular Indian consumer electronics company, which initially was centered on the production of telephones, but over the years became a strong contender in the smartphone market. It also makes laptops, LED televisions, tablets, as well as 3G data cards.
It was in the year 2010 that Micromax embarked upon a strong foothold in the Indian market of smartphones by providing low-budget smartphones with appealing features, and the phase took the company to the next level and made it the tenth largest smartphone vendor in the world by the year 2014.
However, in recent times due to declining sales and cut-throat competition from other Chinese giants in the smartphone sector, Micromax witnessed a downfall in its market shares.
Micromax has the majority of its cell phones powered by Android, however, some of its handsets also run on Windows 8.1. In fact, Micromax also happens to be the official partner of Windows 8.1.
The brand ambassador of Micromax is a popular Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman, since 2013. It was big news since it was for the first time that such a globally renowned Hollywood actor was roped in to endorse an Indian brand.
