Codenamed as the Y400 based on the G4 Rexton, the brand new Mahindra XUV700 is all set to make a launch in India in October 2018. Showcased first at the Auto Expo of 2018, this premium SUV will find its dwelling right above the Mahindra XUV500 in the company’s very own portfolio, making it the flagship product of the Mahindra brand in the country.
Mahindra is all set to launch a line of SUVs in India, and currently it is the XUV700 that’s creating all the buzz, given its promised new features and a price range that’s definitely going up the north way.
Coming to its specifications, it will be powered by a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine as well as a 2.0-liter petrol engine, with maximum powers of 185 BHP and 225 BHP respectively.
The peak torque is 420 Nm for the diesel variant and 220 Nm for the petrol variant. Coming to the transmission unit, it is a 6-speed manual unit for the diesel engine and a 7-speed automatic option for the petrol engine.
According to test run results, the mileage of the SUV showcases a minimum of 11 KMPL and a maximum of 15 KMPL. The wheelbase of the XUV700 is expected to be long at 2865 mm, which should in return result in a wider leg space.
From the design perspective, the SUV brags of quite an aggressive stance, with a bold shoulder-line alongside flared wheel arches. The length of the vehicle is 4850mm, with a width of 1960mm, and a height of 1800mm.
The notable features on the premium SUV include: Electric seats, LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED rear lights, 10.1-inch screens for rear passengers, 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment, ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, leather upholstery, WiFi support, etc.
Other features include 8 airbags, hill descent control, active roll-over protection, electronic stability control, ABs with EBD, as well as advanced emergency braking.
Lavishly priced at a minimum of Rs. 20 lacs and maximum of Rs. 25 lacs, the brand new Mahindra XUV700 will see its rivals mainly in the likes of the Ford Endeavor and the Toyota Fortuner.
