The popular electronics manufacturer brand Samsung launched two new mid-range selfie-focused smartphones in New Delhi on this Thursday.
These new J series smartphones were launched in China, last month. But those were a bit different from the ones which are launched in India.
These two phones are specially made for the young generation who loves to take selfies. Both of these phones are enabled with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The rear camera features F/1.9 aperture and the front camera is complemented with LED flash which helps to click better images even in low light.
Both the phones run on Android v5.1 which is supported by 1.5 GB RAM. The Galaxy J5 has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, where the J7 has a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor. Both of them are 4G LTE enabled.
The Galaxy J5 has a 5 inch TFT display with an HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. On the other hand, Galaxy J7 has a 5 inch TFT display with the same resolution.
J5 is powered by a 2600 mAh battery with 342 hours of standby time, where J7 is powered by a 3000 mAh battery that delivers up to 354 hours of standby time.
The internal storage capacities of the phones are 8GB and 16GB respectively, which can be expanded up to 128GB.
The first one of the two, Samsung Galaxy J5 is priced at Rs. 11,999 and the second one, Samsung Galaxy J7 is priced at Rs. 14,999. Both the smartphones will be available exclusively on Flipkart from July 24.
With the new J series smartphones, Samsung would be trying to compete with Micromax, Lenovo, and Xiaomi who have taken over the huge market of smartphones which was once ruled by Samsung.
Samsung is also trying to persuade the users with a lot of exciting offers, like free in-game credits worth Rs. 3200 for top titles. Airtel will be offering double data benefits with free access to music worth Rs. 594 for six months.
These phones will be available in black, white and gold colour and will be available for pre-booking from Thursday 4 pm, only on Flipkart.
