About Nissan X-Trail Hybrid

Recently, the popular Japanese automaker Nissan had unveiled the new upgraded version of the already existing Nissan X-Trail.

The existing model was also the one that was showcased at the Indian Auto Expo in 2016, however, it is the upgraded version, also known as the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid, which is going to be launched in India sometime next year in 2017, and with this launch, the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid will happen to be the first ever launched hybrid SUV in the country.

Coming to the specs, the upgraded version of X-Trail has undergone only aesthetic exterior changes than the interior. The interior is quite comfortable and spacious decked with advanced technology and equipment both in terms of five-seater and seven-seater.

The exterior of the SUV sports a muscular look, pretty alike to the fundamental SUV design, with stylish curves and creases of course. It has also got tipped fog lights on both sides of the air intake area, giving the SUV a more versatile look. The boot space of the vehicle is estimated to be around 479 liters.

While mechanically, the hybrid version doesn’t differ much from its pre-upgraded version, one of the USP of the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid is its 2.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with an electronic motor. Some of the other notable features in the SUV include vehicle dynamic control, hill start assist, active trace control, around view monitor, active engine braking, active brake limited slip, as well as active ride control.

Other than these aspects, the SUV comes decked with a CVT automatic gearbox, which is said to be a mileage booster for the automobile, fetching in good mileage. The estimated mileage of the SUV for its diesel variant is around 11.21 KMPL (city mileage) and around 14.42 KMPL (highway mileage).

The direct competition that Nissan X-Trail will have in the market is from its two contemporaries, with which comparisons will be often drawn, and those two other same league automobiles are the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Honda CR V.

The estimated price of the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid in India as of now is Rs. 22 lacs.
