indiAn Elated Priyanka Chopra Tweets About Her Being Invited To Join The Academy

This year the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has issued a total of 774 invitations to new members to come on board and join the academy, which is one of the most prestigious global platforms for films and arts.

This year, the list includes names of popular Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Irrfan Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, as well as Priyanka Chopra.

Priyanka, who is a renowned Hollywood sensation now, courtesy her hit ABC show Quantico, and her recently released the movie, Baywatch starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron among others, has made it to the list of invitees for her achievements in Hollywood, mainly for her debut film there Baywatch as well as Barfi!

Excited for the same, an elated Priyanka took her to Twitter handle to thank the Academy for honoring her with this invite, and she tweeted:

Thank you @TheAcademy for inviting me and all these amazing women into the fold. It’s good to see you have included some guys too.

On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan has been included in the list for recognition in The Great Gatsby and Kabhi Khushi KabhiGham, whereas Aishwarya had been recognized for movies like Devdas and Jodhaa Akbar. Similarly, Irrfan Khan has been recognized for his movies Life of Pi and Slumdog Millionaire, while Salman has been recognized for Sultan and BajrangiBhaijaan and Deepika too has been recognized for her recent Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel—xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, as well as her hit movie Piku. Aamir has been recognized for his movies Lagaan and 3 idiots.

Other than the aforementioned Bollywood stars, the Academy has also sent out invites to some very popular Indian filmmakers, like, GoutamGhose and Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
