About Panasonic – Mobile Company in India
About Panasonic
Founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita, and formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Limited, Panasonic is a popular multinational Japanese company, which is focused on the electronics sector.
It has its headquarters in Kadoma, Osaka, in the country of Japan.
From the year of its commencement, it has been a strong contender in the electronics market, always in line with other popular electronic giants like Sony, Hitachi, Canon, etc.
Panasonic has been a part of the mobile communications market since long and had managed to acquire 20% of shares in the Japanese market of mobile phones. However, in the year 2005, due to poor sales in the overseas market, it had withdrawn its services from the markets abroad, only to come back again in the year 2012.
Alongside mobile phones, it also began producing mobile equipment for both the domestic and the overseas market.
It released the first Android-powered smartphone, which was the Panasonic Eluga, in the year 2012 itself. However, in the years following, the company didn’t plan to extend its Android-powered smartphone production, and by the second quarter of the year 2012, the company had reported an operating loss of around 5.4 billion yen.
