Built in the year 1984, the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow, also known as the IIML-L was the fourth IIM to be built in the country after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore. A centrally funded institute, the IIM-L is currently one of the top ranked global business schools, which has attained a stature in the top five business schools in the country.
Located in Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the institute has close ties with renowned business schools in the world, with which it collaborates in terms of students exchange programs. Offering programs in both postgraduate, executive as well as management fellowship fronts, the IIM-L has the motto “Better management towards better nation.”
It is also the mentor and guide institution for the newly established IIMs at Kashipur and Rohtak. Admission to the institute is based completely on merit scores of the candidates in their Common Admission Test (CAT) and GMAT. The institute has an accreditation from the global body AMBA.
IIM-L is also popular for organizing a number of cultural events, seminars as well as competitions in sports and arts throughout the year, wherein participants from other business schools come to compete.
