About IIM Bangalore

0 380

Established in the year 1973, the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore was the third IIM to be set up in the country after the planning commission passed the order to build the first two IIMs at Calcutta and Ahmedabad respectively.

Located in Bangalore city, in the Indian state of Karnataka, the IIMB was set up as a public business school, unlike the IIMs at Calcutta and Ahmedabad which were inclined towards the private sector. It was inaugurated by the then prime minister of India—Indira Gandhi.

With its motto as “May our study be brilliant and effective,” the IIMB not only provides the students with postgraduate diploma programs, but also a number of doctoral programs, along with added scope for conducting seminars, publishing journals and pursuing research.

Its programs are both part time and full time, along with programs like residential MBA along with a variety of executive programs. Although it is not mandated by the institute to have prior work experience before joining any of the programs here, it is seen that most of the candidates have a minimum work experience of two-three years.
