Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra who has been starring as the protagonist of US TV series ‘Quantico’ has apologised for a Hindu plotline in one of the recent episodes of the show that created an outrage on social media.
The recent episode showed Chopra’s character Alex Parrish thwarting a plot that was hatched by Hindus right before a summit in Kashmir and this led to an uproar on social media where many Hindus were angry due to the show’s portrayal of their culture and thus, attacked Priyanka Chopra on her social media handles.
Apologising for the same, Priyanka tweeted from her Twitter handle and called herself a “Proud Indian.”
Her tweet read:
‘I’m extremely saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been hurt by a recent episode of Quantico. That was not and would never be my intention. I sincerely apologise. I’m a proud Indian and that will never change.’
The controversial episode titled ‘The Blood of Romeo’ aired on June 1, and showcased Chopra’s character Alex, stopping an attempted terrorist attack.
Many fans called this an “insult to India” saying the episode was a direct attack on Hindus and some even went on to say that it wasn’t just an attack on Hindus but also an attack on India
