Every father wants their son to be more successful than him. These Bollywood stars are no different. There are so many instances where a star kid has tried his luck in Bollywood, but only few have tasted the success. Here are 5 father-son duos of Bollywood who have successfully paved their way to the top.

Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan:

Bollywood is incomplete without the name Amitabh Bachchan. With loads of super hit movies and unforgettable performances, senior Bachchan has established himself as the star of the millennium.

Junior B has also proven himself as a good actor and has delivered some great performances in the movies like Guru, Paa, Yuva and Sarkar.

He has stepped out of his father’s shadow and made his own identity in Bollywood. This father son duo has appeared in the same movie quite few times. Sarkar, Paa, Bunty aur Bubbly, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna are some of those movies.

Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan:

Rakesh Roshan has given the Bollywood some brilliant performances as an actor in the period 1970-1990 and later he got fame for his directing skills as well. Rakesh Roshan is one of those filmmakers who are obsessed with a particular letter, which is K in Roshan’s case.

Karan Arjun, Koyla, Kaho Naa… Pyar Hai, Koi… Mil Gaya are some of Roshan’s masterpieces.

Hrithik was first introduced in the Bollywood by his father, Rakesh Roshan, in the movie “Kaho Naa… Pyar Hai”, which broke lots of records and went on to winning most of the awards that year. This Bollywood celeb doesn’t just possess great acting skills, but also drives his fans crazy with his Greek-god look and awesome dancing moves.

Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor:

Kapoors are one of those few Bollywood families who are serving Indian audience for years. Rishi Kapoor, one of the finest jewels of the Kapoor family has contributed Indian cinema with some great movies. His role in the movie “Mera Naam Joker” as a child was appreciated by many and he won Filmfare award for his first movie as a hero, “Bobby” in 1974.

Ranbir Kapoor, who has mesmerized the whole Bollywood industry with his performance in “Barfi”, is the son of Rishi Kapoor and actress Neetu Singh. With a charming face and great performances on screen, Ranbir has proven himself as one of the superstars of recent time. Barfi, Rockstar, Wake Up Sid are some his finest works.

Dharmendra and Sunny Deol:

Dharmendra, the He-Man of Bollywood is mostly known for his roles in action movies. But initially, he started his career as a romantic hero. He played the role of “Veeru” in the timeless classic “Sholay”. He was also appreciated for his performances in a comic role.

Sunny Deol, like his father, is also famous for his action movies. Damini, Ghayal, Ghatak, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy are some of his super hit movies. However, “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” is considered as the biggest hit of his career.

Pankaj Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor:

Known for his serious roles Pankaj Kapoor is one of India’s finest actors. He, along with Naseeruddin Shah, OmPuri, Piyush Mishra, Manoj Bajpayee, Irrfan Khan, Kay Kay Menon and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is considered as the “Walking Acting School of India”. He has won the National award three times in his career.

Shahid, known for his exceptional dancing skills, has also proven himself as a better actor over the time. His performances in Vivah, Jab We Met and Kaminey were much appreciated.

Shahid has given his best in his latest release “Haider” which has brought him the Filmfare award for best actor in a leading role. This father-son duo has worked together in the movie “Mausam” which was released in 2011.
