Computer – something that has been modifying and transforming our lives for the past few decades. From clerks working in small offices to the officials who handle the national security to the scientist who is researching space and galaxies; every one of them needs and uses computers.
In today’s world having some basic skills in the computer is as vital as having some survival skills. Computer application and computer science have become a mandatory subject in schools.
Currently, there exists no field that does not use this machine. The demand of people with knowledge of computer applications is increasing every day in all the fields. Technology has overtaken us in every sphere of life.
It has also created a lot of employment opportunities. BCA is a 3 year UG programme awarded in India.
Most of the universities have BCA in their course structure but most of them fail to provide the students with the up to date knowledge and training. The computer is evolving every day and it is important to be updated with the current knowledge. Studying BCA from SMU, give students the chance to learn about the latest technological advancement.
To apply for this course, you must have the following qualification
- A minimum of 50% in your 10 + 2 board exam. (For SC/ St and OBC the minimum percentage required is 45%). It is not mandatory to be from the Science stream. Students from Arts and Commerce can apply as well.
- There will be an entrance exam to test your
- High school level knowledge of science and mathematics
- The logical ability and reasoning power
- General English
- General Knowledge
- Numerical and quantitative ability
This is a three-year course consisting of 6 semesters. BCA is taught in the Majitar campus of The Sikkim Manipal University of Technology.
