Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan has cleared the loans of over 1300 famers in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the same, he tweeted on Monday, ”Cleared the loans of farmers from Uttar Pradesh… select few were booked by me on train from Varanasi, and given OTS (‘OTS: One Time Settlement with Bank Of India’)”
The celebrated actor also met some of the farmers personally to hand over the bank letters to them.
“And then the meeting with the farmers from UP and the giving of the OTS certificates to a select few from the 1398.
“Let the Laxmi of the house, the daughter give them that. Laxmi the Goddess of wealth. Shweta, the daughter, the Laxmi of the house,” he wrote.
In his blog post, he shared some photographs with his daughter Shweta. He did the one time settlement and invited around 70 farmers to Mumbai by blocking the whole of one compartment in the train to personally give away the bank letters to them.
Earlier too in the year 2017, the ‘Piku’ actor had paid off the debts of around 350 farmers and also helped the families of around 44 Maharashtra soldiers who had perished in combat. He had handed over sums of money to the farmers and the late soldiers’ families along with his wife Jaya Bachchan.
