Chamundeshwari Temple

This is one of the most well known Hindu temples that are one of the prime tourist attractions for pilgrims.

Situated in the Chamundi Hills, 13 km away from the main city of Mysore this is considered to be a sacred Maha Shakti Peethas that has its own importance in spiritual pages.

This temple is situated at a height of 1000ft at the top of the hill.

 

Ranganathaswamy Temple

Made out of beautiful granite and work of art, Ranganathaswamy Temple is another most attractive temple that the city of Mysore has to offer for the tourists.

This temple is situated in Srirangapatna.  This temple belongs to God Ranganatha where people of all religions visit and considered to be a sacred place of worship.

This temple has got 21 tower gateways and built on the island created by Kaveri.

 

Mysore Palace

This Royal residence of the kings is considered to be the official residing place of the Wadiyar dynasty who is known to rule Mysore for years as mentioned in the history books.

 

Lalitha Mahal

Built by the Erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore, Lalitha Mahal in today’s date is another place of great attraction for tourists from India and different parts of the world.

It is considered to be the second largest place in Mysore located near the Chamundi Hills.

Jaganmohan Palace

St. Philomena’s Church

Once this place had 30 temples Located about 45 km south-east of the city of Mysore the Talakadu town is like a desert-type and is situated at the banks of the Kaveri river.

Melukote

Situated at Mandya district, Karnataka, popularly known as Thirunarayanapuram, Yoga-Narasimha Swamy Temple is one of the most sacred places for the Hindus to offer prayers.

This temple is built on the rocky hills of Yoganarasimha which is situated around 51 km away from Mysore.  This place is most prominent for its activities related to the Srivaishnava sect.

This place offers excellent architectural work to its visitors and found with different types of inspirations printed on the temple surfaces.

 

Bylakuppe

Considered as the second largest Tibetan settlement, this place is one of the most visited place for those who visit Mysore.

This small town is well known for Namdroling Monastery that is located to the west of the Mysore.  The Golden Temple and Ingalakere are different other places of tourist attraction as well.

As per records, the Government of Mysore has made an allotment of nearly 3,000 acres of land at Bylakuppe for the Tibetans to settle and thus this town is inhabited by Tibetan families as well.

 

Nanjangud

Officially known as the Nanjanagudu, this well-known town is situated at the banks of the River Kapila.

This city is also famous by its name as Dakshina Kashi which has to offer different sightseeing along with different variants of bananas as well.

For thousands of years, this place is known as the Shiva Centre as well.
