Yogeshwar Dutt – Olympics Medal Winner
Born on the 2nd of November, in the year 1982 in Haryana, Yogeshwar Dutt is a popular figure in the sport of wrestling in India. He has many accolades and honors to his credit, including the bronze medal he won at the Summer Olympics held at London in the year 2012 for the category of Freestyle Wrestling for Men 60 kgs.
He recently won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games held at Glassgow last year in 2014. Just the year prior to that in 2013, he was honored with the Padma Shri Award by the government of India that was another feather to his cap.
Inspired by the life of wrestler Balraj Pehlwan, Dutt acquired immense interest towards the sport from the mere age of eight, and ever since then he started with his training in wrestling under his coach Ralph.
He soon went on to win the gold medal in the Commonwealth wrestling championship held in the year 2003 and also won the same in 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games held at New Delhi and Glassgow respectively.
He has bagged three gold medals and two silver medals in the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in the years 2003, 2005 and 2007.
A master in wrestling, he has also won one gold medal and one bronze medal in the Asian Games in 2014 and 2006 respectively, and also a gold medal in the 2012 Asian wrestling championships held at Gumi.
