About MRF
MRF, better known as Madras Rubber Factory is an Indian brand of tyres founded by K. M. Mammen Mappillai. It has its headquarters in Chennai. It has a multidimensional stature.
It is the 14th largest manufacturer of tyres in the world. Its current logo is a muscleman, which portrays the strength and durability of the products that it manufactures. It also produces other rubber products, like conveyor belts and tubes, on a considerably large scale.

History:
The journey of MRF can be traced back to 1946 when K. M. Mammen Mappillai lais its foundation. He began it as a toy balloon manufacturing unit, that had been set up at Madras.
It was in 1952 that the company laid its hands on the production of tread rubber. It began functioning as a Private company in 1960. During its initial years, it collaborated with Mansfield Tyre and Rubber Company in Ohio, United States.
It also excelled in export market services, when in 1964 it started an office in Lebanon. It made its first international export in 1967, with its first export of tyres to the USA.
In 1973, Nylon tyres were manufactured. In 1979 The Mansfield Rubber Company shed its name and that is how MRF came into existence.
