About Manmohan Singh
Born on the 26th of September in the year 1932, Manmohan Singh is a famous politician, he served as the prime minister of India for 10 years in a row, from 2004 till 2014, until the current prime minister of India, Narendra Modi came into power.
A spectacular economist, Singh had been an epitome of great academic records and his awards and accolades know no bounds. A scholar, he has been regarded as the pivotal architect of the country’s financial renewal and it is during his tenure, that India witnessed a number of changes in terms of its economic front.
A topper in his academics since childhood days, he completed his higher studies from Cambridge and Oxford University, and later returned to India and became a lecturer at the Delhi School of Economics and the Punjab University.
During the year 1971, he joined the Indian Civil Service which gave him the opportunity to serve as the top officer in a number of government departments.
He took oath as the prime minister of India on 22nd May, 2004, and his tenure saw many economic shifts, thanks to his intellect as a renowned economist. He has been honored with a number of awards which include the World Statesman Award, honor as a distinguished fellow from the London School of Economics, etc.
