About OnePlus
Founded in the year 2013 by Pete Lau and Carl Pei, OnePlus is a popular Chinese smartphone manufacturing company that extends its services in around 42 countries all over the world other than mainland China.
It has its headquarters located in Shenzhen, Guangdong, and from its commencement had popular telecommunications giant Oppo as its main institutional stockholder.
The first smartphone from OnePlus was the OnePlus One, launched in the year 2014 and it was a huge hit in the domestic as well as overseas market.
In India, the product was launched and sold exclusively through the popular e-commerce portal Amazon.in and with the success of OnePlus One, the company went on to expand its areas of service to a list of countries, from Austria to Germany, the UAE, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Egypt, Singapore, Spain, Romania, the USA, and many more.
The first series of OnePlus mobiles: One, Two, and Three, were all introduced with the ‘invite system’ in order to avoid extra manufacturing because of orders when the company wasn’t ready to ship.
However, with the release of OnePlus 3 in the year 2016, the invite system was discontinued by the company.
So far, OnePlus has produced five devices between 2014 and 2016, which are OnePlus One, OnePlus Two, OnePlus X, OnePlus 3, as well as OnePlus 3T, all of which run on customized versions of Android OS from Google.
