About Lyf
A popular subsidiary of Reliance Retail and a part of the electronics wing of Reliance Industries Limited, LYF, which is also known as Reliance LYF, was founded in the year 2015 and is an Indian mobile-handset company, in the consumer electronics industry, and has its headquarters in Mumbai, in the state of Maharashtra.
Primarily, it was established by popular telecom operator Jio, in the same year.
It fundamentally focuses on manufacturing 4G enabled VoLTE smartphones, which means devices decked with Voice over Long-Term Evolution.
The first set of smartphones loaded with this feature which was launched by LYF were: LYF Earth 1, LYF Water 1, and LYF Water 2.
According to recent reports published in the month of May in 2016, LYF has managed to acquire the second position in the list of largest LTE phone suppliers in India, beating popular companies like Micromax and Lenovo, alongside being the fifth largest smartphone players in the country.
While earlier handsets from LYF were available only through retail outlets, from the month of February 2016, the company went on to make its devices available on popular online portals like Amazon as well as Grofers.
