Founded in the year 1979, HPL Communication Limited is one of the leading Indian brands in the electronics and communications sector.
It has its headquarters in Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat. Their largest manufacturing plant too is located in the same area.
Coming to the sector of mobile phones, the company has so far successful produced a list of feature phone and smartphones at pocket-friendly prices in the market.
It so far has nine smartphones to its credit and two feature phones, alongside one mini phone. The smartphones manufactured by HPL company are all powered by Android operating system from Google.
The most popular ones from the lot are the HPL Xpress A-1XP, the HPL Xpress A-9500, the HPL Platinum A65, the HPL Platinum A-50Q, the HPL Platinum A-45Q, all of which are powered by Android 4.2 version Jelly Bean, and most of them are upgradable to the next Android version, that is KitKat.
The other smartphones powered by lower versions of Android, such as, Ice-cream Sandwich and Gingerbread are the HPL Platinum A-40, the HPL A One, the HPL Mega A44, as well as the HPL Mega A35.
