4 ways to tend to your skin this winter

Winters may be a fun season to enjoy, go vacationing and do a variety of other stuff, but it no surprise that with winters, if one thing goes in jeopardy, it is your skin.

Majority of women complain of skin issues during winters, the most common of which are flakes, itchiness, too much dryness, cracks, and lots more! However, thankfully it is not the end of the world and with the right approach you can totally avoid these problems for good and enjoy the chilly weather as much as you want!

Here are some quick tips on how to take care of your skin during winters—

  1. Consult a skin specialist

You may feel what’s the requirement for this? But trust me, it is essential. It is important to know your skin type to begin with and have an expert recommend you products. Quite often, women take the responsibility of getting skin products on their own and end up having bad reactions as the products don’t suit their skin type. It is not always true that if a product is manufactured by a high end brand, its results will be highly rendering in terms of your satisfaction. Sometimes, it is all about the right choice and not the price!

  1. Moisturizing is the key

The fundamental problem of winters is dryness. So you need to make sure that your skin is moisturized well in order to avoid the flakiness. If you already have a dry skin type, make sure you use a complete oil based moisturizer that keeps the dryness at bay. If you however have oily skin, then it is wise to switch to water based moisturizer since too much of oil in creams can cause other skin issues like acne breakouts and itchiness.

  1. Sunscreen is still your best friend

You may think that sunscreen is only meant for summers, but breaking news! Sunscreen is your #BFF! Yes, the forever buddy, since the snow glares as well as the light sun rays can still damage your skin when you step outside during day time. So make sure that you slather sunscreen whenever you are out of your house.

  1. Avoid harsh peels and toners that contain alcohol

Frequent scrubbing and peeling should be avoided during the winters as they tend to make your skin drier, washing away the essential oils from your face. Try using gentle cleansers that cleans the dirt from your face and at the same time doesn’t do away with the essential oils. Avoid toners and astringents that contain alcohol as they can cause further dryness and irritation.
