1. Registration; The initial step entails signing up on the website. Users are required to register and pay a registration fee, which varies depending on the state. Following registration users will receive an acknowledgment number via SMS.
2. Bidding; The bidding phase commences post registration and spans over three days from 12 pm to 5 pm. There is a possibility of extending the bidding period by, up to 30 minutes. To participate in the bidding process users must submit the minimum reserve price of their desired number plate in the form of a Demand Draft issued by any nationalized bank.
Once the user wins the bid, for their preferred number plate they will receive an allotment paper. Be notified via SMS.
To complete the process the user needs to forward the confirmation/allotment paper to their vehicle dealer for registering the vehicle with the number.
It’s worth noting that the initial bidding price varies from state to state for each number plate. How much do VIP number plates cost? Category-wise price list
VIP number plates in India are categorized into five categories.
- Category 1 number plates include 0001 and are the most expensive, with a price tag of Rs 5 lakh.
- Category 2 number plates include numbers between 0002 to 0009, and prices start from Rs 3 lakh. Moving on to
- Category 3, which includes numbers 0010 to 0099, 0786, 1000, 1111, 7777, and 9999, the price drops to Rs 2 lakh.
- Category 4 includes number plates such as 0100, 0111, 0200, 0222, 0300, 0333, 0400, 0444, 0500, 0555, 0600, 0666, 0700, 0777, 0800, 0888, 0900, 0999, 2000, 2222, 3000, 3333, 4000, 4444, 5000, 5555, 6000, 6666, 7000, 8000, 8888, 9000, 0101, 0108, 1008, and 1313, with a starting price of Rs 1 lakh.
